Sun Connection provides engineering best practices to ensure solar systems meet or exceed structural and electrical requirements, as well as the specific requirements of IEEE, UL, NEC, ASCE, and IBC. We handle all aspects of project design including site evaluation, site engineering, permit packaging, and project management. Project quality is underpinned by solid component selection. Sun Connection has relationships with many of the major global tier one solar module, inverter, racking, steel shade structure, and electrical equipment manufacturers to ensure long lasting quality and performance.

1. Stakeholder Engagement

While technical solutions are critical to project success, design creativity on a given project has the best chance for successful implementation if accepted by all key stakeholders. Most projects involve multiple key stakeholders so we work to engage with detailed planning and design options early in the process to ensure clear path communication and execution.

2. Risk Management

All projects involve risk to the client, to Sun Connection, and to our partners. Identification of specific items that that may hinder project execution are identified early in our process and the selection of best partner firms in our engagement allows for mitigation of risk. With our partners we deliver projects on time and on budget.

3. Project Control

Project control encompasses a wide range of items including financial (scope and cost), human resource and scheduling activities. We address three areas as we engage on a project:

• Cost Management ‐ Sun Connection staff began Solar Energy development efforts over a decade ago with focus on support of channel partnerships. This refined and unique business model has brought about a keen focus on quality and accuracy throughout our process on both pre‐sale and post‐sale activity. We develop initial budgets for projects that are not strictly estimates, rather we invest the time at the beginning of a project initiation to develop accurate budgets in consideration of all risk elements.
• Scope Management ‐ When engaged on a project, we first understand and scope the customer objectives and work with our partners to develop a scope management agreement that benefits the customer from start to finish of a project.
• Time Management ‐ Plan, execute, monitor and deliver. We work to ensure that timelines are established with a project management software and Sun Connection will sequence in deliverables on design, engineering, administration, procurement and finance as needed to ensure project kick off is a success and managed with our construction partners until project interconnection. Timelines are developed by Sun Connection and top tier construction partners to deliver real world results.
